This T-shirt is more than just apparel—it’s a story woven with nostalgia and cultural roots.
“JAPOCATEPETL” is a coined word combining Popocatépetl—the iconic volcano in Mexico—with Japan (Japon).
For the Tres Hermanos crew, their home base Mt. Fuji is affectionately called JAPOCATEPETL.
In Mexico City, there’s a beloved floating party culture centered around the wetlands of Xochimilco. Inspired by this, we gave Lake Yamanaka the name "YAMANACUACO," blending Japanese geography with the spirit of Nahuatl, the ancient language of Mexico.
The other Fuji Five Lakes have also been given names in this same style.
Nearby Yamanakako stands Konohanasakuya-hime, the Shinto goddess of Mt. Fuji.
In our eyes, she resonates with Mexico’s Virgen de Guadalupe, and that spiritual connection is quietly embedded into this design.
To us at Tres Hermanos, TAQUERIA 3HERMANOS YAMANACUACO is more than just a place.
It’s a sacred site—a promised land that bridges Mexico and Japan.

The Meaning Behind the Logo
The 3Hermanos logo carries a deep affection for the three brothers it represents.
Those three brothers, of course, represent us—Tres Hermanos—but they also reflect our approach of opening our hearts and sitting down face-to-face like true siblings with our friends in Mexico and everyone we meet along the way through our taco truck journey.
The eldest brother wears a crown, the second is intellectual in style, and the youngest—charming and carefree—holds a beer in one hand. We hope that everyone who gathers around Tres Hermanos sees a bit of themselves in these characters and comes to love Tres Hermanos like family.
By the way, in Spanish, “HERMANOS” literally means “brothers,” but it’s also used to refer to both brothers and sisters together.
