The Story Behind the Design
The T-shirt’s motif is steeped in nostalgia and cultural fusion.
JAPOCATEPETL is a coined word that blends Popocatépetl—the iconic Mexican volcano—with Japon (Japan).
This is how the Tres Hermanos crew affectionately refer to their home base, Mt. Fuji.
Inspired by the festive spirit of Xochimilco—a cherished place in Mexico City where locals party on colorful boats—we gave the name YAMANACUACO to Lake Yamanaka.
Each of the Fuji Five Lakes has also been renamed in Nahuatl, the ancient language of Mexico, as a playful yet heartfelt cultural tribute.
Around YAMANACUACO stands the Shinto goddess Konohanasakuya-hime, guardian of Mt. Fuji.
We found a soulful connection between her and Mexico’s Virgen de Guadalupe, and that resonance is subtly woven into the design.
To us, TAQUERIA 3HERMANOS YAMANACUACO isn’t just a place.
It’s a sacred ground—a promised land that links Japan and Mexico through story, spirit, and style.
* Please note: due to the nature of the material and production process, actual sizing may slightly vary.
The Story Behind the Logo
The Meaning Behind the Logo
The 3Hermanos logo carries a deep affection for the three brothers it represents.
Those three brothers, of course, represent us—Tres Hermanos—but they also reflect our approach of opening our hearts and sitting down face-to-face like true siblings with our friends in Mexico and everyone we meet along the way through our taco truck journey.
The eldest brother wears a crown, the second is intellectual in style, and the youngest—charming and carefree—holds a beer in one hand. We hope that everyone who gathers around Tres Hermanos sees a bit of themselves in these characters and comes to love Tres Hermanos like family.
By the way, in Spanish, “HERMANOS” literally means “brothers,” but it’s also used to refer to both brothers and sisters together.
